Reign of the Seven Spellblades: Anime Adaptation of Popular Light Novel Series
Reign of the Seven Spellblades, a popular light novel series written by Bokuto Uno and illustrated by Ruria Miyuki, is set to receive an anime adaptation. The announcement was made alongside the release of a promotional video, revealing the anime’s premiere in July 2021.
The Storyline of Reign of the Seven Spellblades
The story follows the life of a new student, Oliver Horn, who joins the Kimberly Magic Academy, known for its dangerous and mysterious environment. He teams up with a fellow student, Nanao Hibiya, who is skilled in wielding a katana. Together, they set out to survive and overcome the challenges of the academy.

The Production Team of Reign of the Seven Spellblades
The anime adaptation is being produced by J.C. Staff and directed by Masato Matsune, who has previously directed Chronos Ruler. Shogo Yasukawa, known for his work on Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, is responsible for the composition of the anime. Sôta Suwa designed the characters, and Kujira Yumemi composed the music for the series.

The light novel series, Reign of the Seven Spellblades, is published under the Dengeki Bunko label of Kadokawa Corporation. The first volume of the series, illustrated by Ruria Miyuki, was released in September 2018. The eighth volume was released on September 10, 2020. The series was ranked first in the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! of 2020 by Takarajimasha.
The Manga Adaptation of Reign of the Seven Spellblades
A manga adaptation of the series, written by Sakae Esuno, was released in May 2019.
